A Little About Me

Hello, I'm Fatema Tuj Johora, though I go by Ava. I'm a Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD), working in SysNetS Lab (Fall '25-present) under the supervision of Professor Imtiaz Karim. My research focuses on cybersecurity, using formal methods to make network protocols, especially in cellular 4G/5G systems, safer and more reliable.

My research focuses on formal analysis, protocol security, and automata-based reasoning. I aim to develop rigorous methods to analyze and secure complex network systems, bridging theoretical foundations with practical applications. Apart from research, I currently work as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA), where I assist in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students.

I have completed my graduation from the CSE Department of BUET. I also have professional experience working as a Software Engineer at Synesis IT. During my time at Synesis IT, I was part of the Convay team as a Full Stack Engineer, where I contributed to the development and maintenance of the platform. My work included implementing and improving the transcription feature, resolving various technical issues, and collaborating with the team to enhance overall system functionality and user experience.
